Terms & Conditions – Mascot Hire Near Me

1. Bookings & Payments
1.1 All bookings are subject to availability.
1.2 A booking is only confirmed once payment or deposit has been received.
1.3 Deposits are non-refundable unless the Company cancels the booking.
1.4 Full payment may be required before the event date.
1.5 Prices may change until a booking has been confirmed.
1.6 The Client is responsible for providing accurate booking details including event address, contact information, access details, and timings.

2. Cancellations
2.1 If the Client cancels a booking:
  • More than 14 days before the event – deposit retained
  • 7–14 days before the event – 50% of total booking payable
  • Less than 7 days before the event – 100% of booking payable
2.2 The Company reserves the right to cancel a booking due to illness, emergencies, unsafe conditions, extreme weather, or circumstances beyond our control.
2.3 In the event of cancellation by the Company, we will attempt to offer a replacement mascot or performer where possible or provide a refund of monies paid.

3. Right to Refuse or Terminate Bookings
3.1 The Company reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or terminate any booking where the venue, location, access, environment, or event conditions are considered unsuitable, unsafe, or inappropriate.
3.2 Unsuitable conditions may include but are not limited to:
  • Unsafe or restricted access
  • Extreme heat, rain, snow, or dangerous weather
  • Lack of adequate space
  • Unsafe flooring or surfaces
  • Aggressive or uncontrolled behaviour
  • Unsafe working conditions for performers
3.3 If a booking is refused or terminated due to unsafe or unsuitable conditions caused by the Client or attendees, no refund will be issued.

4. Behaviour & Safety
4.1 The Company reserves the right to leave or immediately end any booking if:
  • Children or guests become aggressive, abusive, violent, or uncontrollable
  • Guests damage, hit, pull, or mistreat the mascot costume
  • Staff or performers feel unsafe
  • The event environment becomes unsafe or inappropriate
4.2 The Client is responsible for supervising children and guests at all times during the booking.
4.3 No refunds will be given if a performance is stopped due to aggressive, dangerous, or inappropriate behaviour.

5. Mascot Performer Hire Terms
5.1 The Client agrees to provide a safe and suitable environment for mascot performers.
5.2 Performers may require short breaks during appearances due to heat, visibility, and safety requirements.
5.3 Mascot performances may be shortened, delayed, or cancelled due to extreme weather or unsafe conditions.
5.4 The Company reserves the right to refuse certain performance requests that may risk performer safety or damage costumes.

6. Self-Hire Terms
6.1 Self-hire bookings are for costume rental only. The Client is responsible for providing their own performer.
6.2 The Client accepts full responsibility for the mascot costume during the hire period.
6.3 A refundable security deposit may be required for self-hire bookings.
6.4 The Client agrees:
  • Not to alter, wash, or modify the costume
  • Not to expose costumes to fire, smoke, rain, mud, animals, or harmful substances
  • To use the costume responsibly and safely
6.5 The Client is fully responsible for any loss, theft, staining, excessive cleaning, or damage to the costume.
6.6 The Company reserves the right to charge for:
  • Repairs
  • Cleaning
  • Missing parts
  • Replacement items
  • Full costume replacement if necessary
6.7 Late returns may result in additional charges.
6.8 Self-hire bookings are supplied with a particular mascot version selected by the Company unless agreed otherwise in writing.

7. Mascot Character Appearance
7.1 Mascot characters may vary slightly from photographs, promotional images, social media content, or previous appearances.
7.2 The Company may own multiple versions of the same mascot character, including different styles, colours, or designs.
7.3 By booking with the Company, the Client accepts that minor differences in mascot appearance may occur.
7.4 Self-hire costumes are allocated based on availability and may not match the exact version shown in advertisements or marketing materials.

8. Booking Time Slots
8.1 All bookings are scheduled within allocated time slots rather than guaranteed exact arrival times.
8.2 The Company will always aim to arrive within the agreed slot, however timings may vary due to traffic, earlier bookings, setup requirements, or unforeseen delays.
8.3 Changes requested after booking confirmation may be subject to additional charges or surcharges.
8.4 Additional time requested during an event is subject to availability and may incur additional costs.

9. Delivery & Collection
9.1 Delivery and collection times are estimates only.
9.2 The Client must ensure somebody is available to receive and return costumes where applicable.
9.3 Failed collections or inaccessible venues may result in additional charges.

10. Liability
10.1 The Company is not liable for:
  • Injuries caused through misuse of costumes
  • Unsupervised children
  • Event disruption outside our control
  • Indirect or consequential losses
10.2 The Client remains responsible for guest supervision and venue safety throughout the event.
10.3 The Company’s total liability shall not exceed the total booking amount paid.

11. Photography & Marketing
11.1 The Company may use photographs or videos from events for marketing and promotional purposes unless the Client requests otherwise in writing before the event.

12. Force Majeure
12.1 The Company shall not be held responsible for delays, cancellations, or failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control including:
  • Severe weather
  • Illness
  • Vehicle breakdowns
  • Traffic delays
  • Government restrictions
  • Natural disasters

13. Governing Law
13.1 These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
